Open the search
- 01
From the header
Press Search in the header; on narrower screens it is the magnifier icon. On phones the search opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen.
- 02
With the keyboard
Ctrl K (⌘K on a Mac) opens and closes it on every page. / opens it too when you are not typing in a field. Both work over a progress or information window, such as Scanning wallet, but not while a window asks you to sign or confirm something.
- 03
From a search box
The home and wallet analysis search boxes read input the same way: a transaction hash or free text typed there opens this search with it.
What you can type
| You type | What it offers |
|---|---|
| A 0x address | Wallet analysis on your network, Profile & XP, Compare with another wallet and Token approvals. A contract also links to its contract page (Contract Details). Also active on lists the other networks where the address holds coins or code |
| vitalik.eth, jesse.base.eth or @username | The name is resolved to its address first, then the same wallet options |
| Two wallets: a vs b or a, b | Wallet Comparison of the two on your network |
| A transaction hash (0x and 64 hex characters) | Its transaction page (Transaction Details) on the network it was found on, Analyze sender, and the explorer page. A hash the main networks do not know is looked up once across every network zkCodex serves |
| A token name or symbol | Matching tokens (opened on the explorer) and contracts (opened on their contract page), with their address and a GoPlus warning when the token looks risky |
| Any word | zkCodex pages, networks, apps, documentation sections and FAQ answers, matched as you type. A single word is also offered as a Farcaster username |
Nothing opens by itself
A token or contract result always shows its address and opens only when you pick it, so a look-alike token cannot send you anywhere unseen.

Search the documentation
Every documentation page has its own search box at the top of the page list (above Browse documentation on a phone). It matches page and section titles first, then the text of every section, tables and steps included, and opens the section itself. Every word you type must match. The text of the guides loads the first time you click the box, so pages that are only read stay light. Arrow keys move through the results, Enter opens one and Esc clears the box.
What is stored
The last ten results you opened and the network you searched on are kept in this browser only; Clear recent searches in the empty search removes them. zkCodex stores no searches. Names are resolved through ENS, Base and Farcaster (a @username opens the wallet its owner marked as primary on Farcaster), transaction hashes are looked up by the zkCodex server on each network's RPC, and token searches go to Blockscout through the zkCodex proxy. Addresses and hashes are also searched once across networks with Blockscout's multichain search, shared by every visitor for five minutes. That search draws from a shared daily explorer allowance with the other public lookups; while it is used up, the last answer for the same query is shown, or the search across networks asks you to try again in a few minutes.
